A Love Electric makes the recorded debut of its new lineup with the "God Save the Surf" EP recorded live to tape at Testa Studio in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. The title, and four pieces that make up the EP are inspired by bandleader/guitarist Todd Clouser's time on Mexico's Costa Grande, where he found part-time residence in a small surf village north of Zihuatanejo.

"God Save the Surf" finds Clouser, bassist Aarón Cruz, and new addition Jorge Servin on drums, raw, direct and playful as they run through psych tinged surf rock pieces "Billar" and "Agatha". "Slow Wave"offers another transcendent ballad to the catalog of Clouser penned bittersweet melodies and offers respite from the record's pace before the EP culminates in "Barrio Maniaco", an homage to the neighborhood where Clouser spent the last year of the pandemic. The music is largely instrumental with Clouser's guitar front and center, returning to the early "rock-jazz" days of ALE.

Often referred to as a band "you gotta see live to understand", the "God Save the Surf" EP gives listeners the best look yet at what that is all about. Grit, reverb, humor and the trademark A Love Electric energy make "God Save the Surf" a powerful and appropriate introduction to the new A Love Electric.
